Dortmund midfielder Gundogan out with back injury

DORTMUND, Germany (AP) — Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan will be sidelined for around two weeks after aggravating a back injury while playing for Germany.

Dortmund team doctor Markus Braun says Gundogan's discomfort has worsened following Germany's 3-3 draw with Paraguay on Wednesday.

Gundogan, who scored Germany's first goal, came off in the 26th minute, when he appeared to be in pain.

The 22-year-old Gundogan will miss Dortmund's Bundesliga home games against Eintracht Braunschweig on Sunday and against Werder Bremen on Aug. 23.

Dortmund coach Juergen Klopp will likely start with Sven Bender and Nuri Sahin in midfield, while new signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan could also feature after recovering from an ankle injury.
