Mourinho wants Cole to stay, but could move to NY

LONDON (AP) — Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho wants Ashley Cole to stay at the club, but believes the defender could be persuaded to move to the United States.

The England international is out of contract at Chelsea at the end of the season and has been linked with a move to the New York Red Bulls to link up with former Arsenal teammate Thierry Henry.

Mourinho says the 33-year-old Cole has a future at Chelsea "but maybe Thierry has a better proposal."
