Professional athletes have cautioned those participating in the Dhiraagu Road Race against starting irregular running routines.

At a news conference held at Dhiraagu Head Office, professional athletes stressed on the importance of preparing for runs beforehand and warned against starting running all of a sudden just for the road race. National record holder Shifaz Mohamed stated that preparations should be made for the road race much like any other competition and running without preparing was not advisable.

This year's road race will be held in two categories. The first category of 10 km run will be held in the morning and the second category of 5 km will be held in the evening. Participants can take part in both races.

Dhiraagu Road Race has been held for the past 13 years. In the last seven years, the race had been dedicated to protecting child rights and enhancing child development. This year's race will be held on this Friday.
