Land area has been allocated to the United Arab Emirates to build an embassy in the diplomatic enclave in the second phase of Hulhumale’.
Foreign Ministry stated that the diplomatic enclave to be established in Hulhumale followed the example of other countries to locate foreign missions and embassies in the countries in one area for security and safety purposes.
The enclave is also expected to release the pressure on the congestion faced in Male’ city and and will also be used to locate the future embassies of other countries to be established in the Maldives.
A reciprocity rule will be used to allocate land from the diplomatic enclave in Hulhumale, according to the Foreign Ministry. Space has already been allocated for India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and China in the diplomatic enclave.
