World Health Organization (WHO) has donated 10,000 more test kits and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to the Maldives to assist in its fight against COVID-19.

Health Minister Abdulla Ameen thanked the WHO representative to the Maldives Dr. Arvind Mathur for the generous assistance from the organization. WHO has now donated 21,000 test kits to the Maldives and the organization gave the green light that the supply of test kits to the country would be increased in the future.

Among the PPE gear supplied by the organization, face shields, masks, gloves, and protective gowns were also included.

The organization has been assisting the Maldives since the beginning of government efforts against the virus in the Maldives. Other than technical assistance, the WHO is also working to arrange testing for the virus in different regions of the country. It is also working to secure the supply of equipment and supplies to the Maldives from other organizations as well.
