COVID-19: 21 confirmed new cases along with 10 recoveries

Health Protection Agency (HPA), has announced 21 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in the Maldives to 2,382.

According to HPA, the new cases are;

  • 03 locals
  • 17 Bangladeshi nationals
  • 01 Sri Lankan national

The confirmed cases were identified from 18:00 yesterday to 18:00 today.

Meanwhile, 10 more COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24-hours, increasing total recoveries to 1,954 people.

The new developments mean that the Maldives now has 414 active cases.

There are 284 people in isolation facilities, and 134 people in quarantine facilities.

51,576 samples, including repeated samples, have been taken by health authorities to conduct COVID-19 testing.

  • June 24, 2020: 22 positive cases
  • June 25, 2020: 17 positive cases
  • June 26, 2020: 06 positive cases
  • June 27, 2020: 22 positive cases
  • June 28, 2020: 19 positive cases
  • June 29, 2020: 13 positive cases
  • June 30, 2020: 24 positive cases
  • July 01, 2020: 21 positive cases

Capital Male' City saw the introduction of massive easements to the lockdown order last night. They include the reopening of schools, businesses, cafes, and hotels. Civilians are also allowed outdoors from 5:00 to 23:00.
