Work visa holders will no longer require special permits to enter Maldives

Economic Ministry has announced that no special permits will be required under the employment approval to enter the country after the country reopened its borders after almost three months.

An announcement by the Ministry stated that starting from today, no special permits will be required to enter the country from now on. Previously, a special permit was required for people with work visas to enter the country as the country underwent the lockdown.

Anyone with a work visa will be permitted to return to the country. Tourists will be granted a 30-day on arrival visa.
