Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has reissued a previous advisory calling for just one person to accompany a traveler to the airport.
The request by MACL comes at a time when the capital Male’ City has seen a spike in the number of COVID-19 cases.
MACL requested that it is highly recommended for just one person to accompany or attend the airport when receiving or seeing off travelers. Unnecessary visits to the airport should also be halted, said MACL, which added that the measures were for the benefit of all travelers and airport staff.
Maldives reopened its borders after almost four months in lockdown due to COVID-19. The number of inbound and outbound travelers have once again been increasing steadily since the country reopened its borders on July 15.
