Attorney General’s Office initiates discussion with courts on civil justice system

The Attorney General’s Office has initiated a series of discussions with the Supreme Court, High Court and Civil Court regarding the civil procedure bill, the affect it will have on the civil justice system, and other important policies on the bill.

The first meeting, held virtually, took place this Monday.

The meeting was attended by Attorney General Ibrahim Riffath, Chief Justice Ahmed Mu’thasim Adnan, other justices from the Supreme Court, and judges from the High Court and Civil Court.

Discussions focused on policies and procedures to promote fair, transparent and speedy verdicts in civil cases.

According to the Attorney General’s Office, the meeting is the first in a series of meetings which will be held to discuss the civil justice system and the civil procedure bill.
