Applications open for magistrates for 8 courts

Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has open applications for magistrates for eight courts.

In a statement on Monday evening, JSC announced it is looking for magistrates for five courts, and chief magistrates for three courts.

Applications for magistrates are open for courts in H. Dh. Kulhudhuffushi, Sh. Funadhoo, N. Manadhoo, V. Felidhoo, and G. Dh. Thinadhoo, while applications for chief magistrates are open for courts in R. Maduvvari, F. Feeali, and G. A. Kolamaafushi.

Applications will remain open until 01:00 pm on September 21.

The minimum age requirement for applicants is 25 years, while the minimum educational requirement is a diploma in Sharia or Law, or Sharia and Law, and the minimum work experience requirement is two years of experience as a judge or lawyer, or both, or in a legal position at a court of law.

Magistrates will receive MVR 23,450 as salary and allowances, while chef magistrates will receive MVR 25,600. They are also entitled to medical insurance in accordance with protocol.
