INS Sunayna, Saryu-class patrol ship of the Indian Navy, arrived in Maldives on Saturday, for the serial joint maritime surface surveillance patrol by the MNDF Coastguard and Indian Navy.

According to MNDF, the surveillance patrol of the Maldives Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) will be held from September 27 to October 4.

The upcoming patrol will mark the 70th joint maritime surface surveillance patrol of MNDF Coastguard and the Indian Navy.

It comes after an Indian Navy aircraft arrived in Maldives for joint surveillance patrols on September 8. According to MNDF, the Dornier aircraft concluded the patrol on September 16.

Another Dornier aircraft had arrived in Maldives, also for a joint patrol, a week earlier, on July 31.
