Faruheeza, Shafeeu appointed to High Court

Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has made two new appointments to the High Court.

Fathimath Faruheeza (Zephyr, S. Maradhoo) and Hassan Shafeeu (Sweetmead, K. Dhiffushi) took their oath of office, and were presented with their letters of appointments as High Court judges in a ceremony at the JSC headquarters on Sunday.

Their oath was administered by Supreme Court Justice Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim.

Faruzeena most recently served as chief magistrate of the S. Feydhoo Magistrate Court. She has a Bachelor of Law (Honors) and Master of Comparative Law from the International Islamic University of Malaysia.

Faruzeena has 10 years of experience as a lawyer, both in private practice and as a public prosecutor. She also has experience as a lecturer in the field of law.

Meanwhile, Shafeeu most recently served as a judge at the Civil Court.

Shafeeu began his career as a judge in 2013 at the Family Court.

He has a Bachelor of Law (LLB) from Maldives College of Higher Education and a Master of Comparative Law from the International Islamic University of Malaysia.

Shafeeu has 14 years of experience in the legal field, and has experience drafting legislature and working as a lecturer in the field of law.
