Regular classes to commence for Grade 8 next week

The Education Ministry has announced that regular physical classes for Grade 8 students in the Maldives was set to recommence next week. 

The Minister, in an announcement, said that the move was upon the advice of the Health Protection Agency (HPA). 

Next Monday, regular classes will recommence for Grade 8 while classes will recommence for Grade 7 on October 25. Classes are already underway for Grades 9 and above.

Schools in the Maldives closed due to the outbreak of COVID-19 in March. The Ministry had initially opened schools in Male' City in July after a significant reduction of cases back then after conducting online classes. However, as cases once again resurged schools were once again closed.
