PPM: Civilians gathered near Yameen's speedboat harmed by police

Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) has stated that two women who gathered near a speedboat carrying former President Abdulla Yameen received injuries due to the actions of the police. 

Yameen arrived in the capital Male’ City for a hearing of his trial today. The incident, according to PPM happened as Yameen was being taken to Maafushi Prison from the court after the hearing. 

PPM Spokesperson Heena Waleed said that the two women gathered near the area where Yameen was departing from and that police actions saw them suffer injuries. 

One was taken into custody while the other received injuries to the face, according to Heena who specified that the women was now receiving treatment at the hospital. 

Yameen is now back in prison. He was sentenced last year after being found guilty of money laundering.
