COVID-19: Maldives confirms 26 new cases

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has announced 26 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in the Maldives to 13,274.

With the new cases, Maldives has a total of 629 active cases. 

According to HPA, 23 of the new cases were confirmed from the greater Male’ region. A single case was confirmed from an operational resort while two were confirmed from a liveaboard.

Meanwhile, 104 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 12,591.

There are a total of 68 patients in the hospital. 

HPA specified that 1,728 samples were collected for the virus in the last 24 hours.

Health officials have so far collected 261,047 samples for the virus.
