COVID-19: With 34 new cases, active cases now stand at 633

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has announced 34 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in the Maldives to 13,308.

With the new cases, Maldives has a total of 633 active cases. 

According to HPA, 15 of the new cases were confirmed from the greater Male’ region. Nine cases were reported from inhabited islands, while eight cases were confirmed from an operational resort. Two were confirmed from a liveaboard.

Meanwhile, 30 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 12,621.

There are a total of 66 patients in the hospital. 

HPA specified that 2,058 samples were collected for the virus in the last 24 hours.

Health officials have so far collected 263,107 samples for the virus.

47 COVID-19 patients have died from complications.
