Curfew on Male' City lifted

Curfew imposed on the capital Male’ City from 00:00 to 04:00 due to COVID-19 has been lifted. 

Health Protection Agency (HPA) on Friday night, announced that the curfew will no longer be imposed as part of the easements to the COVID-19 restrictions. 

The four-hour curfew was imposed last month after easements to the previous five-hour curfew. Prior to that, the curfew had lasted from 22:00 to 5:00. Meanwhile, from September 23 to October 3, the curfew lasted from 20:00 to 05:00. Vehicles were also banned from the streets of the capital. 

HPA has also permitted public gatherings of less than 14 people at the same time and allowed for public gatherings and congregations for special occasions with safety measures. 

The lockdown on the capital barring travel to other islands is still in place.
