COVID-19: Maldives confirms 51 new cases

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has announced 51 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Maldives to 14,513.

According to HPA, the new cases include; 19 cases from the greater Male’ region, three cases from residential islands outside Male’, and 28 cases from operational resorts.

Meanwhile, 35 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 13,540.

With the new developments, Maldives now has 917 active cases.

There are 69 patients in hospitals.

364,325 samples (including repeated samples) have been tested for COVID-19 to date.

49 COVID-19 patients have died from complications.
