Maldives’ COVID-19 death toll rises to 55

Health Protection Agency (HPA) announced on Sunday that a COVID-19 patient hospitalized in the Dharumavantha Hospital in Male’ has passed away.

HPA identified the deceased as a 60-year-old Maldivian female.

She passed away at 11:07 am on Sunday.

“This is the 55th COVID-19 death in the Maldives,” announced HPA.

Maldives has 16,656 confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 109 new cases recorded on Saturday. 14,556 patients have since recovered, and the country currently has 2,039 active cases.

207 of the patients are hospitalized.
