Maldives continues to reign as top destination among Emirati travelers

UAE travel agency REHLATY by dnata Travel states Maldives continues to be the top-selling tourist destination among Emirati travelers.

REHLATY by dnta Travel states Maldives was the most popular destination for Emirati travelers in 2020, and the trend looks set to continue this year.

“The Maldives is more family-friendly than ever, offering a plethora of indoor and outdoor activities for all ages, and with its dry season extending to late April, now is an excellent time to travel. We recommend excellent family-friendly hotels across these destinations that offer large suites, family rooms, or private bungalows and pool villas,” said Rehab Mansoor, General Manager at REHLATY by dnata Travel.

REHLATY by dnta Travel revealed that 70 percent of its bookings so far this year have been for outbound travel, with the Maldives and Tanzania proving the top-selling destinations for its Emirati travelers, along with Sri Lanka and Bosnia.

Statistics released by Maldivian Tourism Ministry shows 2,646 Emirati tourists travelled to Maldives by the end of March this year - a 133.7 percent increase compared to the same period last year. The statistics also show Emirates to be the top tourist carrier to Maldives this year - having carried 59,689 passengers to Maldives by the end of March.
