Investigation launched after mix up of vaccine doses to same person

Health Emergency Operations Center (HEOC) has stated that it is investigating a case where an individual was administered two doses of two different COVID-19 vaccines.

In a press conference today, HPA Director Ahmed Nasir said that an individual had been administered different doses of different vaccines and that the case was under investigation. 

Director Nasir said that the health of the individual is being closely monitored and that no health complications have so far been noticed. 

Not many details were provided regarding the case since it is still under investigation.

Director Nasir added that no health complications have been identified from similar cases reported elsewhere in the world and that the advice of the World Health Organization was also being sought for the case. Director Nasir further stated that precautions were being undertaken to ensure that such a case is not repeated.
