The national airline of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Saudia has commenced operations to the Maldives.

With the operations of Saudia, the total number of airlines currently operating to the Maldives has increased to 30. This includes some of the biggest airlines in the world such as Emirates, Qatar Airways, Etihad Airways, and Lufthansa.

Saudia will be operating to the Maldives four times a week.

Despite the commencement of the operations, Maldives is still included as a travel advisory guideline of Saudi Arabia. The guideline requires Saudi travelers to 38 different countries including the Maldives to follow special guidelines.

Some countries across the globe have issued travel restrictions and advisories on the Maldives, as COVID-19 case numbers grow day by day in the country.
