Health Emergency Operations Center (HEOC) has announced that Maldives has run out of stock of the Pfizer vaccine.

Speaking at a press conference today, Dr. Nazla Musthafa stated that no stocks of the Pfizer vaccine are available in the Maldives at present, whereas authorities are working to secure additional doses.

“Will announce as soon as we receive a new shipment of the Pfizer vaccine,” Dr. Nazla added.

Pfizer vaccine is a product of the companies Pfizer and BioNTech. Maldives received 5850 doses of the said vaccine on March 25 through the COVAX facility.

The vaccine was being administered in the Maldives only to pregnant women and high-risk individuals with special conditions.
