COVID-19: 125 new cases, 26 from Male’ area

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Tuesday, announced 125 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 77,758.    

According to HPA, the 125 new cases include; 26 cases from the greater Male’ region, 91 cases from residential islands outside Male’, and 8 cases from operational resorts.  

Meanwhile, 137 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 75,065.    

With the new developments, Maldives now has 2,459 active cases.    

There are 16 patients in hospitals.    

5,449 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours, including 2,181 from the greater Male' region.  

With the 125 new infections this Tuesday, 805 people have tested positive over the last one-week period.    

August 3: 125 cases 

August 2: 86 cases  

August 1: 115 cases   

June 31: 123 cases    

June 30: 107 cases    

July 29: 108 cases    

July 28: 141 cases     

Maldives has recorded 222 COVID-19 deaths.
