COVID-19: 113 new cases, 25 from Male’ area

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Saturday, announced 113 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 78,243.      

According to HPA, the 113 new cases include; 25 cases from the greater Male’ region, 73 cases from residential islands outside Male’, 13 cases from operational resorts, and 2 cases from liveaboards. 

Meanwhile, 97 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 75,450.      

With the new developments, Maldives now has 2,559 active cases.      

There are 24 patients in hospitals.      

5,992 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours, including 2,162 from the greater Male' region.    

With the 113 new infections this Saturday, 811 people have tested positive over the last one-week period.   

August 7: 113 cases 

August 6: 131 cases    

August 5: 104 cases  

August 4: 137 cases  

August 3: 125 cases   

August 2: 86 cases    

August 1: 115 cases       

Maldives has recorded 222 COVID-19 deaths.
