COVID-19: 111 new cases; 1,251 active cases

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Saturday, announced 111 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 86,088.      

According to HPA, the 111 new cases include; 13 cases from the greater Male’ region, 84 cases from residential islands outside Male’, and 14 cases from operational resorts. 

Meanwhile, 68 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 84,587.    

With the new developments, Maldives now has 1,251 active cases.      

There are 17 patients in hospitals.      

4,614 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours, including 1,643 samples from the greater Male' region. The positivity rate in the greater Male’ area is at 1 percent. 

With the 111 new infections this Saturday, 623 people have tested positive over the last one-week period.

October 10: 83 cases 

Maldives has recorded 237 COVID-19 deaths.
