BML launches rewards loyalty program for credit card customers

Bank of Maldives (BML) has launched BML Rewards – an exclusive loyalty program for its credit card customers.  

BML Rewards - a first-of-its-kind program in Maldives - was launched on Wednesday in partnership with Giift, a leading loyalty solutions provider operating across 55 countries.  

With BML Rewards, customers earn points for purchases on credit cards.  

The points can be redeemed for a range of benefits including at over 900 airlines, 650,000 hotels, car rentals and multiple gift cards from leading brands including Amazon, App Store, iTunes, Google Play, PlayStation, and more.  

Personal Banking customers with American Express, Visa and Mastercard credit cards are eligible to register for the program. 

Speaking at the launching event, BML’s CEO and Managing Director, Tim Sawyer expressed said the bank was delighted to launch the first comprehensive loyalty program in Maldives.

He said the program sets a benchmark of world class card privileges and unparalleled value for BML’s credit card customers. 

“We’re delighted to launch the first comprehensive loyalty program in the country which sets a benchmark of world class card privileges and unparalleled value for our credit customers. Credit cards are a convenient and secure way to pay for everyday purchases, locally and anywhere in the world,” he said. 

Sawyer said the bank has been working hard over the past few months to introduce the loyalty program, and said he hoped to see many customers enjoying BML Rewards. 

The launch of BML Rewards comes a day after the bank introduced a new credit card for limitless USD transactions. 

BML is the largest card issuing and acquiring bank in Maldives with over 300,000 customers and more than 7,000 merchants. The bank is also the exclusive issuer and acquirer for American Express, and a principal member in Maldives for Visa and Mastercard.
