Maldives’ COVID-19 death toll rises to 246

Health Protection Agency (HPA) announced on Tuesday that a COVID-19 patient admitted at the Hulhumale’ Medical Facility has passed away.   

HPA identified the deceased as an 84-year-old Maldivian male.   

He passed away at 11:55 am on Tuesday.   

“This is the 246th COVID-19 death in the Maldives,” confirmed HPA in a tweet.  

This marks the third COVID-19 death in November.  

Maldives has 88,966 confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 149 new cases recorded on Monday. 86,682 patients have since recovered.     

The country currently has 2,026 active cases. 13 of the patients are hospitalized.
