COVID-19: 109 new cases; 2,091 active cases

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Thursday, announced 109 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 89,364.      

According to HPA, the 109 new cases include; 20 cases from the greater Male’ region, 79 cases from residential islands outside Male’, and 10 cases from operational resorts. 

Meanwhile, 114 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 87,013.    

With the new developments, Maldives now has 2,091 active cases.      

There are 14 patients in hospitals.      

2,907 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours, including 1,102 samples from the greater Male' region. The positivity rate in the greater Male’ area is at 2 percent. 

With the 109 new infections on Thursday, 978 people have tested positive over the last one-week period.

November 7:  182 cases 

November 6: 119 cases 

November 5: 130 cases 

Maldives has recorded 247 COVID-19 deaths.
