COVID-19: 74 new cases; 2,040 active cases

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Thursday, announced 74 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 90,340.      

According to HPA, the 74 new cases include; 21 cases from the greater Male’ region, 41 cases from residential islands outside Male’, and 12 cases from operational resorts.

Meanwhile, 184 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 88,039.  

With the new developments, Maldives now has 2,040 active cases.      

There are 12 patients in hospitals.      

3,303 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours, including 1,362 samples from the greater Male' region. The positivity rate in the greater Male’ area is at 1 percent.

Maldives has recorded 248 COVID-19 deaths.
