Maldives Immigration has announced that its online passport application service is available around the clock, same as before, with the completion of the upgrade to its online portal – IMUGA.

Immigration had temporarily slashed online passport application service hours to 08:00-16:00 hours on weekdays earlier this November.

In a tweet on Tuesday morning, Immigration announced that the upgrade to IMUGA is complete, and that the online passport application service will be available 24 hours a day, throughout the week, starting Tuesday, November 23.

Immigration said that passport applications will be processed in order of submission, and that passports will be issued within 24 hours of payment.

Immigration had opened passport applications via IMUGA on July 23 last year, as part of its efforts to modernize its services and improve customer convinience.
