Two companies contracted for construction works at 5 schools

Education Ministry has contracted two companies for construction works at five schools.

In this regard, the construction of eight classrooms and a multipurpose hall at AA. Ukulhas School was contracted to Yes Maldives Private Limited.

The agreement pertaining to this project that is valued at MVR 16 million — was signed on Thursday. Senior Policy Director Moosa Naeem signed the agreement on behalf of the Education Ministry — whereas Director Ahlam Rushdy signed the agreement on behalf of Yes Maldives Private Limited.

Constructions works at the remaining four schools were contracted to Venta Company Private Limited. The four agreements pertaining to each of the four projects were also signed on Thursday. State Minister Ahmed Riyaz signed the agreements on behalf of the Education Ministry — whereas Director Abdulla Haanis Moosa signed the agreement on behalf of Venta Company Private Limited.

The details of the four projects awarded to Venta Company Private Limited are as follows;

  • Construction of six classrooms at Seenu Atoll School which is valued at MVR 6 million
  • Construction of 12 classrooms, 1 laboratory and an office building at S. Maradhoofeydho's Irushaadhiyya School which is valued at MVR 15 million
  • Construction of six classrooms at Ihadhoo School in L. Gan which is valued at MVR 6 million
  • Construction of a 16-classroom building at Gn. Fuvahmulah's Hafiz Ahmed School which is valued at MVR 14 million
