Twelve islands under monitoring mechanisms at present

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has stated that 12 islands are currently under monitoring mechanisms.

At the start of this month, there were 11 islands under monitoring mechanisms. However, the number was cut down to six within the first week. However, the latest statistics by HPA indicate that 12 islands are currently under monitoring mechanism.

They include 12 islands that have been placed under monitoring mechanisms this month and last month. They are:

  • K. Thulusdhoo
  • HDh. Naivaadhoo
  • Dh. Hulhudheli
  • K. Maafushi
  • HA. Ihavandhoo
  • HDh. Nellaidhoo
  • L. Fonadhoo
  • HDh. Nolhivaramfaru
  • Sh. Funadhoo
  • B. Dharavandhoo
  • Dh. Bandidhoo
  • L. Gan

On Thursday, HPA confirmed additional 816 cases of COVID-19 cases, bringing the total cases in Maldives to 100,451.      

According to HPA, the new cases include; 413 cases from the greater Male’ region, 249 cases from residential islands outside Male’, 92 cases from operational resorts and 15 cases from liveaboards.

Meanwhile, 354 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 95,056.    

With these new developments, Maldives now has 5,118 active cases.

There are 25 patients in hospitals.
