Police dispose of 1,318 bottles of alcohol, 347 beer cans seized from travelers

Police have disposed of 1,318 bottles of alcohol and 347 cans of beer in custody of the ADh. Maamigili Police Station.

The alcohol was disposed of in the courtyard of Maamigili Police Station on Monday.

Police state the alcohol was seized from tourists who went to Velana International Airport to depart from Maldives, between December 26, 2021 and June 30, 2022.

Police said the alcohol was disposed of under the supervision of a special committee, in accordance with standard procedure.
