The Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has invited Maldivian President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih to travel to Qatar to spectate a match in the ongoing FIFA World Cup.
In a press conference Thursday, President’s Office spokesperson Miuvaan Mohamed said President Solih had accepted the invitation.
“The President will go to spectate a semifinal match or the final match. I am unable to say which match for sure,” he said.
The semifinal matches will be held on December 14 and 15, and the final on December 18.
The teams are currently playing the final matches of the group stage.
