MTCC awarded coastal protection projects in Himmafushi, Mathiveri

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has been awarded coastal protection projects in the islands of K. Himmafushi and AA. Mathiveri.

The project agreements were signed by MTCC’s CEO Adam Azim and Planning Ministry’s Director General Fathimath Shana Farooq on Sunnday.

The project in Mathiveri is valued at MVR 23.4 million.

The project involves construction of a 54-meter revetment, construction of a 483-meter groyne, construction of a 111-meter seawall, and replenishing the beach by adding 17,800 cubic meters of sand.

MTCC is required to complete the project within 240 days.

Meanwhile, the project in Himmafushi is valued at MVR 10.93 million.

The project involves construction of a 160-meter revetment, construction of a 53-meter groyne, and construction of a 127-meter seawall.

MTCC is required to complete the project within 127 days.

Established in 1980, MTCC has conducted multiple infrastructure development projects across Maldives over the last 42 years.
