Man dies after getting hit with tree branch

A man has died after sustaining critical injuries after getting hit with a tree branch.

The incident, which took place in a resort in southern Maldives, was reported to police at 09:03 am Wednesday.

The 61-year-old man had been cutting a tree when he was hit on the head with a branch.

He sustained critical injuries in the incident and was taken to the Addu Equatorial Hospital.

A police spokesperson said he died at the hospital.
