Naeema’s murder: CP Hameed travels to Manadhoo to observe investigation

Commissioner of Police Mohamed Hameed, on Tuesday, traveled to N. Manadhoo to observe the investigation into the murder of the middle-aged woman who was found killed in her home at the island.

Naeema Moosa, 62, Annaarumaage, N. Manadhoo, was found stabbed to death in her bedroom at around 06:30 pm April 7.

Police have yet to make an arrest in the case.

A team of police officers traveled to Manadhoo alongside CP Hameed on Tuesday, including Assistant Commissioner of Police Mohamed Riyaz.

Manadhoo Council President Abdul Rahman Sabeeh told Sun the team of police officers met with the island’s residents during which CP Hameed assured residents that the police will catch the killer.

Sabeeh, citing CP, said the investigation is taking time as the nature of the case demands a number of tasks.

During the meeting, Manadhoo residents relayed concerns to CP Hameed over the delays in the investigation.
