MPS and sponsors sign partnership agreement for road safety awareness programs

Maldives Police Service and sponsors execute partnership agreement on carrying out road safety awareness programs.

Maldives Police Service and sponsors on Wednesday signed a partnership agreement regarding road safety awareness programs.

The sponsors who executed the agreement with the police on Wednesday included Allied Insurance, Sheesha Private Limited and Ooredoo Maldives.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Ali Rasheed signed the agreement on behalf of the police with General Manager Ibrahim Firushan representing Allied Insurance; Manager of Operations Fathimath Jumana representing Sheesha Private Limited and Chief Commercial Officer Hussain Niyaz representing Ooredoo Maldives.

As part of the same program last year, road safety awareness programs were conducted for school students, parents, taxi drivers and drivers employed by companies.

Commenting on the partnership, Deputy Commissioner Ali Rasheed said the main purpose of the program was to ensure roads are a safe place for both motorists and pedestrians.

He extended gratitude to sponsors for their endearing cooperation in such matters.

“Our strategy has changed a lot at present. Carrying out activities in collaboration with companies is something we have been doing in the past four years,” he added.
