MTCC awarded MVR 125M project to build causeway between Muli and Naalaafushi

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has been awarded a project to build a causeway between Muli and Naalaafushi in M. Atoll.

The contract was signed between Planning Ministry’s Director General Fathimath Shana Farooq and MTCC’s CEO Adam Azim on Wednesday.

The project is valued at MVR 125.58 million.

The scope of works includes; 9,825 cbm reclamation of temporary access bed, 8,496 cbm reclamation of approach road, 16,879 cbm reclamation of retaining wall backfill, 112m revetment, 15m groyne, 340m causeway, and 315m bridge.

The company is required to complete the project in 600 days.

The construction of a causeway between Muli and Naalaafushi is one of President Ibrahim Mohamed Soloh’s electoral pledges.

He renewed his pledge during a campaign visit to Muli last month.
