Muizzu: Will end tyranny, once and for all

The opposition PPM-PNC’s presidential candidate Dr. Mohamed Muizzu says he will end oppression, once and for all, if elected to office.

He made the remark at a rally in Male’ City on Friday evening, to wrap up his presidential campaign.

In his address, Muizzu said that justice will not be mere talk during his administration, but something the people experience for themselves.

“The tyranny in this country will come to an end. In Sha Allah, if you give your trust to me and assign me this responsibility, ours will be the administration that ends tyranny in this country, once and for all,” he said.

Muizzu said that it wasn’t just members of PPM and PNC who were in attendance at the rally, but also members of the main ruling MDP, and people who do not belong to any party.

He said that his administration will be one that is fair to all citizens.

“Instead of treating justice as mere talk or something written down on a book, I, In Sha Allah, will establish an administration that, people can proudly say, treats everyone fairly,” he said.

Muizzu said that his administration’s top policy will be housing.

Muizzu said that by the end of his five-year term, there will not be a single citizen who does not get the right to housing.  

He said that it will solve a number of social issues in the country.

Muizzu said he will not withdraw any flat or land awarded to anyone, and will ensure the projects initiated in islands continue, in accordance with the wishes of the people.
