Concrete works on six towers being developed by FDC finished

Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) states concrete works on six out of 32 towers being developed by the corporation in Hulhumale’ Phase II have been finished.

FDC’s Spokesperson told Sun on Tuesday that 60 percent of the finishing works on four of the six towers have been finished.

FDC had contracted the construction of the housing units to two Indian companies; NBCC India Limited and JMC Projects (India) Limited. Each company will undertake the construction of 2000 housing units situated in 16 towers, thereby 32 towers in total. They include 2,800 three-room apartments and 1,200 two-room apartments. The towers will have 17 to 18 storeys each.

In a previous remark, FDC said the whole project is expected to be completed in 2025.

Meanwhile, another Indian contractor, Kalpataru Projects International Limited (KPIL), was contracted by FDC to construct an additional 4,000 units on August 2nd.

Housing Ministry, on August 8th, said they will contract the construction of an additional 3,500 housing units, in order to provide flats to the recipients under the government’s ‘Gedhoruveriya’ housing scheme.
