Fulhadhoo council president leaves MDP to join PNC

President of B. Fulhadhoo, Ali Azhar has signed with PNC today, after leaving MDP.

Azhar presented his membership form after signing with PNC, to the party's Leader and President-Elect Dr. Mohamed Muizzu. 

After meeting Muizzu, Azhar told the Sun that he decided to sign with PNC because he accepted the policies of the new government and for the future of the constituency and the people of Fulhadhoo. He said he had no doubt that the constituency and the island would benefit greatly from the incoming government.

"I heard very hopeful things from the President. Hopefully, the next generation will see more development,” he said.

Azhar said he believes he can work with PNC for the sake of the constituency and the people. Therefore, he hopes that Muizzu's government will carry out many bigger development projects, he said.

Muizzu, who won the second round of the presidential election on the 30th of last month, is now in the transitional phase. He is currently working on forming his government as President-Elect.

The President-Elect will be sworn in on Friday evening, November 17 at the Republic Square.
