Four youths arrested over gang violence in Addu

Four youths have been arrested in connection to the violent fight between two gangs in Addu City’s Hithadhoo on Friday night.

The fight was reported to the police in the early hours of Saturday morning.

A Police Spokesperson identified four suspects as an 18-year-old, a 19-year-old, a 20-year-old and a 23-year-old. No further details regarding the case have been disclosed by the police.

Friday night’s fight left a 30-year-old Maldivian man seriously injured with stab wounds.

He is being treated at the Addu Equatorial Hospital.

His condition is listed as serious, said the police.

A violent fight broke out between two gangs in Male’ City on last Wednesday. Subsequently, Police have heightened security in both cities.

Three arrests have been made in connection to the fight that broke out near Cibo café in Male’ City; an 18-year-old, a 22-year-old and a 24-year-old.
