Man injured in Addu gang fight transferred to Male’; in ICU

The man who was injured in a violent fight between two gangs in Addu City’s Hithadhoo, who is in critical condition, has been transferred to Male’ City for further treatment.

Friday night’s fight left a 30-year-old Maldivian man seriously injured with stab wounds. He was initially treated at Addu Equatorial Hospital (AEH).

Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH)’s Spokesperson told Sun that that man was transferred to the hospital after treatment at ATH at approximately 11:50pm.

The spokesperson said the man, in critical condition, is being treated at IGMH’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

Police announced the arrest of four suspects in connection to the fight earlier today. They identified the arrestees as an 18-year-old, a 19-year-old, a 20-year-old and a 23-year-old.

A violent fight broke out between two gangs in Male’ City last Wednesday. Subsequently, Police have heightened security in both cities.

Three arrests have been made in connection to the fight that broke out near Cibo café in Male’ City; an 18-year-old, a 22-year-old and a 24-year-old.
