Two MNDF major generals retire

MNDF's Major General Wais Waheed (L) and Major General Hamid Shafeeg (R) who retired after over 30 years in the force.

Two MNDF major generals have retired after over 30 years on the force. 

MNDF named the two individuals who retired as Major General Wais Waheed and Major General Hamid Shafeeg.

Major General Waid Waheed, who joined MNDF on June 19, 1989, retired after 34 years on the force. 

At the time of his retirement – he was serving as the Commanding Officer of MNDF’s Marine Corps and College of Defense and Security Studies.

Major General Hamid Shafeeg, who joined MNDF on March 11, 1990, retired after 33 years on the force. 

At the time of his retirement – he was serving as the Commandant of MNDF’s Service Corps.

Major general is the third highest rank among the ranks of officers in MNDF.
