No arrest despite discovery of bullet

Maldives Police Service states no arrests have been so far in connection to the discovery of a bullet during a search of a Maldivian passenger waiting to board a flight at Kulhudhuffushi Airport.

The discovery was made on Friday.

Media officials from both Police and Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) told Sun they can mostly guarantee that the item seized is a bullet following their investigations.

However, Police media official said no arrests have been made in the case so far.

Speaking to Sun on Friday, MNDF’s media official said the bullet was discovered in the bag of a Maldivian woman, waiting to board a flight.

They also confirmed that no other dangerous items had been discovered on the passenger.

No further details regarding the case have been disclosed by authorities. 

Similar cases of bullets being discovered on passengers waiting to board flights at Maldivian airports have been recorded previously.
