School specialized in Islamic education inclusive of a mosque to be developed in Hulhumale’ Phase I

Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has signed an agreement on Tuesday to develop the temporary mosque located near Redwave City Square in Hulhumale’ alongside a school.

The project was awarded to Al-Madheena Investment Private Limited.

The agreement pertaining to the project was signed by HDC’s Managing Director Ibrahim Fazul Rasheed and Madheena Investment’s CEO Ali Ahsan.

Under this agreement, the temporary mosque located in the area will be developed as a linked school and a mosque.

As per a statement by HDC, the purpose of the project is to pave the way for students to attain a comprehensive Islamic education. Students from low-income families and students with special needs will be able to study at the school, free-of-charge.

HDC said teaching at pre-school level will commence at the school within the next two to three years. The school will later be developed in phases to implement secondary and higher secondary education.

The corporation is presently also undertaking the development of a temporary mosque in Hulhumale’ Phase II in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadan.
