President Muizzu: Development attained after sidelining friendly nations will be incomplete

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, underscoring development brought to one’s own nation by sideling friendly nations will be incomplete, has stressed the importance of pursuing development in a manner that also brings prosperity to other nations.

He made the remark while delivering his main address at the World Governments Summit 2024 in Dubai, UAE, on Tuesday.

In his address, President Muizzu said his administration is serving the people of the nation and for this purpose, will work alongside other nations. He affirmed that the Maldives’ readiness to learn from the experiences of other nations and share its own experiences with others.

“Therefore, let us forge a relationship today that will help overcome obstacles and differences; a partnership in which the priorities of each respective nation are accepted and the success of a nation is celebrated by others,” he said.

President Muizzu said Maldives view nations notable in terms of development such as the UAE as an example in the pursuit of its own development journey.

He explained cornerstone of the relationships maintained by the Maldives with other nations is based upon mutual respect and mutual gains. When upholding such relationships, President Muizzu said the needs of the people and establishing economic and political resilience will be prioritized.

Speaking further, President Muizzu laid out his ambitious vision for the Maldives’ future and highlighted some of the projects planned by his administration.

President Muizzu is presently on an official visit to the UAE to attend the World Government Summit 2024 and  Maldives Investment Forum.
