President Muizzu departs on tour of four southern Maldivian atolls

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, on Sunday, departed on a tour of four southern Maldivian atolls as part of his ongoing initiative to visit all Maldivian atolls.

In this five-day tour – President Muizzu will visit several islands in Gaafu Alifu Atoll, Dhaalu Atoll, Fuvahmulah City and Addu City. However, he will meet with councils of all islands based in these atolls.

The president will be visiting the following islands from these atolls:

  • Gaafu Alifu Atoll: Gemanafushi, Kondey, Villingili, Kolamaafushi, Dhaandhoo
  • Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll: Faresmaathoda, Madaveli, Thinadhoo, Gadhdhoo

A high-level delegation comprising of cabinet ministers and ministers at the President’s Office who are natives of these islands are accompanying President Muizzu on this tour.

In addition to this, Maradhoo MP Ibrahim Shareef and Feydhoo MP Mohamed Nihadh who recently joined main ruling PNC are also participating in this tour.

President Muizzu kicked off his initiative to visit all Maldivian islands from Thaa Atoll Guraidhoo. The island was chosen in light of the fact that he received the most votes from Guradhoo in September’s presidential election.
